The story picks up approximately 15 years later when Naruto is the Hokage of Konoha village and has a family of his own, including a son taking his first steps as a professional ninja. Boruto: Naruto Next Generations focuses largely on Naruto's eldest child and the new crop of youngsters protecting Konoha, most of whom are the offspring of characters from the original series.
